Storage

  • Watermelon cubes can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 3 months
  • Lime juice can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days

Instructions

  • Prepare the watermelon by removing the rind and cutting it into 1-inch cubes. Freeze the cubes in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet for at least 2-4 hours until solid.
  • Rinse, hull, and quarter the strawberries. You can use fresh or pre-frozen strawberries for this step.
  • Combine the frozen watermelon, strawberries, and lime juice in a blender. Blend on high or pulse until a slushy consistency is achieved, being careful not to over-blend.
  • Pour the slushie mixture into chilled serving glasses and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For the best slushie texture, ensure your fruit is frozen solid. If using fresh fruit, freeze it for at least 4 hours beforehand. Pulse the blender in short bursts to avoid a watery consistency.
  • This slushie is best enjoyed immediately. It can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 hour; stir before serving. Leftovers can also be poured into popsicle molds and frozen for up to 2 weeks.

Serving Suggestion

  • Chill your serving glasses in the freezer for about 15 minutes before pouring the slushie to keep it colder for longer.

Notes

This Watermelon and Strawberry Slushie is incredibly easy to make and perfect for a quick, refreshing treat. Ensure your fruit is frozen solid for the best slushy texture. For an extra chill, serve in pre-chilled glasses.
