  • 4 tablespoons chili powder store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin freshly ground recommended
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt optional, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional, for thickening

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until well mixed.
  • Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store in a cool, dark place.

Notes

For tacos, use approximately 2 tablespoons of the seasoning per pound of ground meat. Cornstarch is optional and serves as a thickening agent, similar to commercially packaged taco seasonings.
