Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large green bell pepper, finely diced
  • ½ onion, finely diced
  • 3 (22 oz) cans baked beans
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ tablespoon yellow mustard
  • ½ tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Stovetop Method

  • Brown ground beef in a pot over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  • Sauté diced green bell pepper and onion in oil over medium heat until peppers are tender and onions are translucent.
  • Return beef to the pot. Add baked beans, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, and hot sauce. Stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes until fully heated through.

Oven Method

  • Place cooked and drained beef in an oven-safe Dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  • Bake at 350°F until warmed through and bubbly.

Slow Cooker Method

  • Place cooked and drained beef in a slow cooker with all other ingredients. Stir to combine.
  • Cook on high for 1 hour or on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Notes

This is a one-pot meal designed for easy cleanup. Stir occasionally on the stovetop to prevent sticking. For a smoky variation, add crumbled bacon and use bacon grease to sauté the vegetables. To scale down the recipe, use two 16 oz cans of baked beans and halve the remaining ingredients.
