Ingredients
  

  • 15 oz spicy Italian sausage crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 16 oz potato gnocchi
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or Herbs from Provence
  • 13 oz tomato sauce pasta sauce or marinara
  • 5 oz fresh spinach
  • Salt to taste
  • coarsely ground black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add crumbled sausage and cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart.
  • Stir in gnocchi, chicken broth, heavy cream, garlic, and Italian seasoning; bring to a boil, cover, and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add tomato sauce and spinach; cook for an additional 5 minutes until spinach wilts.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

Chicken broth can be substituted with white or red wine. Any type of tomato sauce works well, and heavy cream can be replaced with half-and-half.
