Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats certified gluten-free if necessary
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced into 1-inch segments approximately 8 peaches

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together oats, pecans, spices, melted butter, and maple syrup until combined.
  • Place sliced peaches into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  • Layer the crumble topping evenly over the peaches.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the topping is golden brown.

Notes

- Peeling: It is recommended to peel the peaches to prevent skin separation during cooking. Use a sharp vegetable peeler. Blanching methods are not recommended for this recipe.
- Ripeness: Select peaches that are slightly soft to the touch but not mushy. They should be slightly less firm than an apple.
- Texture: If the crisp becomes soggy, it may be due to excess liquid or underbaking. Covering with foil can help evaporate liquid.
