Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded Irish cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour, and cook for a minute to create a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, bringing the mixture to a simmer until thickened.
  • Stir in the shredded Irish cheddar cheese, mustard powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  • Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

For an extra crispy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before baking.
