  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • Salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 3 ½ tbsp unsalted butter or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil

  • ⅓ cup honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  • Slice the chicken breasts in half horizontally and season with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
  • Melt most of the butter in a skillet over high heat.
  • Cook the chicken for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add minced garlic and reserved butter to the pan, stirring until melted.
  • Pour in vinegar, soy sauce, and honey, stirring to combine and simmer for 1 minute.
  • Coat the chicken in the sauce, adding water if it thickens too much.
  • Serve the chicken with the sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

The flour coating helps the sauce adhere better to the chicken. This recipe can be adapted for other proteins such as beef, pork, lamb, shrimp, or tofu.
