Ingredients

  • 1 cup water plus extra for warming teapot
  • 1.5 teaspoons hibiscus tea loose preferred
  • Optional sweetener

Instructions

  • Boil 1 cup of filtered water to 208°F, reserving extra for warming the teapot.
  • Warm the teapot by pouring hot water inside, swirling, and then discarding it.
  • Add the hibiscus tea to the warmed teapot and pour in the hot water.
  • Cover the teapot and let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
  • Strain out the hibiscus solids and pour the tea into a cup.

Notes

  • Use loose hibiscus tea for a higher quality brew compared to tea bags. Ensure it is food-grade.
  • Herbal tea does not become bitter, so steeping longer than 5 minutes is acceptable for a stronger flavor. You can also add more hibiscus.
  • Serve hot or iced, with an optional sweetener. Consult a doctor if pregnant or concerned about reproductive health due to estrogen-like properties.

Notes

Use loose, food-grade hibiscus tea for the best quality. Steeping longer than 5 minutes is acceptable for a stronger flavor. Serve hot or iced with optional sweetener. Consult a doctor if pregnant or have reproductive concerns.
