Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups fresh peaches peeled, pitted, and sliced

Crisp Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats old-fashioned or quick-cooking
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter cut into small cubes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9-inch pie dish or an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  • Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the crisp topping.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry blender, fork, or your fingertips to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly and tender. If the topping starts to brown too quickly, you can loosely tent it with foil.
  • Let the peach crisp cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly.
