Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 4 cups filtered water divided into 2 cups for blending and 2 cups for dilution
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ¼ cup agave syrup or honey adjust to taste
  • Fresh mint leaves optional

Instructions
 

  • Rinse blueberries and remove any stems.
  • Blend blueberries with 2 cups of cold water until smooth.
  • Strain the blueberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing to extract maximum juice.
  • Stir in the lime juice and sweetener, tasting to adjust sweetness.
  • Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and mix well.
  • Refrigerate the mixture for at least one hour.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Frozen blueberries can be used as a substitute, though the drink may have a slightly thicker texture. Agave syrup is a suitable vegan alternative to honey. Straining the mixture is recommended to remove pulp for a thinner consistency. Select ripe, deep blue blueberries without white spots for optimal flavor and color. No reheating is required; serve cold.
