  • ½ cup granulated sugar adjust to sweetness of peaches
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter cut into small cubes

Crumb Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter cut into small cubes

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges as desired.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  • Pour the peach mixture into the prepared pie crust. Spread it out evenly.
  • In a separate bowl, prepare the crumb topping by mixing 1 cup flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach filling.
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. If the crust edges start to brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
  • Let the pie cool for at least 2-3 hours before slicing and serving to allow the filling to set.

Crumb Topping

  • In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter.
  • Use a pastry blender, fork, or your fingertips to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a pinch of ginger or cardamom to the peach filling. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the ultimate treat.
