Equipment

  • large pan

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lb asparagus stalks, trimmed and cut into 1-2 inch pieces
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons chopped parsley (or green onions or fresh dill)

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add asparagus and sauté for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
  • Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute olive oil for butter. Add garlic towards the end of cooking to prevent burning. Use medium-sized asparagus stalks for best results; thinner stalks may become mushy, while thicker ones may require longer cooking.
