Equipment

  • serving dish

Ingredients

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup prepared guacamole
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup finely chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Spread the refried beans evenly in a serving dish.
  • Mix the sour cream with taco seasoning, dollop over the beans, and spread gently.
  • Layer the guacamole on top of the sour cream mixture.
  • Drain the salsa and spoon it over the guacamole.
  • Sprinkle cheese, black olives, and green onions on top.
  • Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

The dip can be made ahead of time; it improves in flavor after chilling for a few hours or overnight. Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The guacamole may darken, but a sprinkle of lime juice can help. For a variation, diced tomatoes or roasted corn can replace black olives.
