Equipment

  • 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • large bowl
  • medium bowl
  • small bowl
  • whisk
  • mixer
  • toothpick

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract for batter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream for batter
  • 2 cups peeled, chopped peaches approx. 4 peaches
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream for glaze
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set this dry mixture aside.
  • In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in ¾ cup of heavy whipping cream.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the chopped peaches.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool completely before glazing.
  • To prepare the glaze, combine the powdered sugar, 2 Tablespoons of heavy whipping cream, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract in a small bowl. Mix until a smooth, creamy glaze forms.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread just before serving for a delightful finish.

Notes

  • Unthawed frozen peaches can be used as a substitute for fresh peaches.

Notes

This bread is best served fresh. If using frozen peaches, do not thaw them before adding to the batter. For an extra peachy flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
